[Console Games] Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores content will be exclusive to PS5

After months of speculation and waiting, Horizon Forbidden West's additional expansion, Burning Shores, has finally been announced. Its events will take place in the city of Los Angeles, which has been destroyed by time and epidemic.

Burning Shores was officially revealed during the Game of the Year Awards 2022 edition, which was unveiled yesterday.

Everyone knows that Horizon Forbidden West was released on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, however, the new addition that will complete the events of the last part of the story is scheduled to be released only on the current generation PS5. So does this mean the real beginning of stopping support on the PS4 platform?

According to a recent Guerrilla Games blog post. The Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores expansion will release only on PS5 on April 19, 2023. As stated in the blog post:

The reason for this decision is due to the sheer size and scope of the expansion's content, which allows players to fully explore the city of Los Angeles, even though it is now in ruins according to the game's narrative. Underwater diving and high-altitude flying are both options for exploration, and there are also several new machine threats lurking in the shadows of the city, so players will have to use all their experience and terrain traversal knowledge to defeat them.

Fans of the series who own last generation devices will be very disappointed by this unexpected decision. Especially since the full game was released on their devices and didn't encounter many problems in terms of performance or graphics.
