The Intel Arc A580 8 GB GPU has appeared in a benchmark once again but the graphics card has yet to make an official launch.

Intel Arc A580 8 GB Can Be Great Competition Against RTX 4060 & RX 7600 If It Ever Launches
The Intel Arc A580 GPU and its other counterparts in the Xe-HPG lineup were announced almost a year ago. While the Arc 3 and Arc 7 lineup saw desktop releases, the Arc 5 series never saw official retail availability which is a disappointment considering the immense potential the GPU is expected to hold. Now, the emergence of the Intel Arc A580 GPU on the GFXBench benchmark may hint that the GPU could release soon, but this is an assumption for now, & Intel hasn't provided any clarity.

For a rundown, Intel already disclosed the full specifications of the Arc A580 GPU which will feature 24 Xe-Cores (3072 ALUs) clocked at 1700 MHz and will also feature 8 GB of GDDR6 memory across a 256-bit wide bus interface at the same 16 Gbps clocks for 512 Gbps of bandwidth. The GPU runs at 175W TDP and previous leaks have disclosed a similar performance to NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3060.

The Intel Arc A580 was allegedly benchmarked in the Ashes of The Singularity with an undisclosed Intel 12th or 13th Gen CPU featuring a total of 16 cores. It performed well on the 1080p Minimum preset under the Vulkan API, scoring an average of 95 FPS which puts it on par with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, which scores up to 96 FPS in the same test.

Based on the specs and estimated performance, the Intel Arc A580 can still be a viable solution for mainstream gamers. It can sit against the RTX 3060 at a much lower price point. The Arc A750 itself costs $249 US which is the new official MSRP so a $199 US or $179 US price for the Arc A580 8 GB can be very attractive. The Arc A750 can already be bought for as low as $150 US in Japan & $179 US in US markets so that may be one reason why the company is avoiding the launch of Arc A580 cards since it won't sell when you get an A750 in its place for a lower price.

AMD and NVIDIA have continuously released options, such as the GeForce RTX 4060 & Radeon RX 7600, to fill the generational gaps in the budget segment but they have failed to capture audiences' interest due to bad value. Intel could capitalize on this with the Arc A580 especially since the new drivers have really elevated the performance of the Alchemist GPU architecture. Intel is rumored to launch its Alchemist+ refresh lineup at some point so maybe we get to see the A580 launch with it.
