[Economics] PDVSA crude oil production goal for 2024 is 1,759,000 bpd

The president of Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA), Pedro Rafael Tellechea, pointed out that the goal for 2024 of the Venezuelan oil industry is to produce 1,759,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd).

It also stated that the company Monomeros Colombo Venezolanos S.A. currently "has no debt" and added that "it is in the hands of Pequiven in full operation."

He specified that the Colombian-Venezuelan company "is serving 40% of Colombia's agricultural demand."

He noted at Expo Fedeindustria 2023 that they are planning the installation of an NPK plant in Venezuela, which would have functions similar to Monomeros.

He stated that after 6 years, they achieved "the first sales of ammonia, which shows that it can be done."

Tellechea and gas licenses
The Venezuelan Oil Minister also stressed that he would like to sign the first gas licenses next month, "but there are still aspects to be defined."

“We have to become gas exporters ourselves. We are already taking the first steps," he said.

It should be remembered that authorities from Trinidad and Tobago have held several conversations since January with representatives of Venezuela about the joint development of an offshore gas field, near the maritime border between the two nations.
