The latest benchmarks of Intel's upcoming Core i9-14900K & Core i7-14700K CPUs which will be part of the Raptor Lake Refresh lineup have leaked.

Leaked Intel Core i9-14900K & Core i7-14700K "Raptor Lake Refresh" CPU Benchmarks Could Be From Early ES Chips
The Intel Core i9-14900K & Core i7-14700K CPUs are part of the 14th Gen Raptor Lake-S Refresh Desktop lineup which retains the same core architecture as the existing chips but offers increased clock speeds and a few new core configurations on models such as the Core i7 series. But before we get into the juicy numbers, let's recap what we know about these two chips that have leaked out in the benchmarks today.

Intel Core i9-14900K CPU Specifications

Starting with the flagship, we have the Intel Core i9-14900K CPU which will feature 16 cores & 32 threads in a 8+16 configuration. The CPU will feature up to 36 MB of Smart Cache and a base TDP of 125W (253W PL2). It will feature clock speeds of 3.2 GHz at the base and up to 6.0 GHz with Thermal Velocity Boost. These frequencies are currently for the pre-QS stage so we might see the rumored 6.2 GHz on either this chip or a "KS" variant later down the road. Regardless, this will be a +200 MHz frequency jump over the Core i9-13900K and the same as the Core i9-13900KS.

Intel Core i7-14700K CPU Specifications

For the Core i7-14700K, Intel will be utilizing its 8+12 core configuration which offers 20 cores and 28 threads. This will be a nice upgrade over the existing Core i7-13700K which offers an 8+8 core configuration, allowing for a nice boost to multi-threading performance thanks to those extra E-Cores. The CPU will offer 33 MB of smart cache (vs 30 MB) and feature clock speeds of 3.4 GHz at the base and up to 5.6 GHz with TBMT3. That's also a +200 MHz boost over the 13700K & we can see performance uplifts of around 5-10% from this particular SKU

Alright so on with the performance numbers. the Intel Core i9-14900K & Core i7-14700K were tested in the BAPCo CrossMark CPU benchmark which evaluates the CPU's responsiveness & the Productivity/Creative suite performance. For comparisons, we will be using the average overall score which is 2265 for the Core i9-14900K and 1980 for the Core i7-14700K. Meanwhile, the Intel Core i9-13900K and Core i7-13700K score 2399 & 2222 points, respectively however, the minimum score is much lower than that of the new Raptor Lake-S refresh parts. The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X also scores a respectable 2218 points while the Ryzen 9 7900X scores 2166 points.

Now these scores aren't particularly that great as we had expected better performance thanks to the higher clocks and higher core configurations (14700K) but the reason is that these might just be early ES/QS chips with lower clocks. This is evident by the fact that the other chips have a larger size of sampling which leads to the lower minimum scores while the 14900K and 14700K have a much smaller sample size which may not even be based on the final retail silicon. We know that the chips will offer:

Same Architecture as Raptor Lake (Raptor Cove P-Cores + Gracemont E-Cores)
Same Process Node as Raptor Lake (Intel 7 aka 10nm++)
Higher Clock Speeds (+200 MHz Per "K" SKU)
Support For Faster DDR5 Memory DIMMs
Much Higher Power Consumption (Close To 300W)
Compatibility With Existing LGA 1700 / 1800 Socket Motherboards
Expect more information on Intel's 14th Gen Raptor Lake-S Refresh Desktop CPU family at the upcoming Innovation 2023 event in September which will also be the launch platform for Intel's Meteor Lake "Core Ultra" CPUs.
