PUBG: Battlegrounds (formerly PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds) is a massively multiplayer online battle video game developed by PUBG Corporation (currently PUBG Studios) and published by Bluehole (currently Krafton) for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Android and iOS, these two latest with the help of Tencent Games. The game was a beta battle royale of ARMA 3 that came out in 2015. It is based on the Battle Royale style of mods previously developed by Brendan "Playerunknown" Greene for other games, but expanded independently under his own creative direction. In the game, one hundred players parachute from a plane to an island, where they are free to move to a certain location of their choosing and search for weapons and equipment to kill other players while avoiding being killed. The available safe area of the game world decreases in size during the game, directing surviving players to smaller areas and forcing confrontations. The last player or team standing wins the game.

The game was released on Windows through the Steam Early Access program in March 2017. While in Early Access, the game had sold over four million copies in a period of three months. Krafton planned to release on consoles after the full release of the Windows version, with an Xbox One version planned to be an exclusive scheduled for late 2017. A version for iOS and Android mobile devices was released on March 20, 2018. on the App Store and the Play Store.1 The video game was launched on the PlayStation 4 console on December 7, 2018.2 The video game distributor and developer Krafton launched a light version of PUBG MOBILE and PUBG. This version of Playerunknown's Battlegrounds was called PUBG LITE, which was optimized for low- and medium-resource computers, but was canceled. The same thing happens with PUBG MOBILE: Tencent Games and Krafton released PUBG MOBILE LITE, which is a version optimized for people who do not have mid-high range devices. PUBG MOBILE LITE was launched on the Play Store. A version of PUBG: Battlegrounds was released for Google Stadia on April 28, 2020.
