In Messi there is no party at Inter Miami. The world champion missed his fourth consecutive game due to injury and his team was defeated 4-1 in their league visit to the Chicago Fire in a Soldier Field stadium packed with 62,124 spectators.

Messi did not travel to Chicago while waiting to complete his recovery process due to a muscle problem suffered on September 20. They had already been out in the Cup final, lost against the Houston Dynamo, and with this fall Inter Miami dropped to the penultimate place in the East of the MLS, with 33 points, five of the playoff places and three days left to go.
