Jihad Diab, 20, inherited two wild animal farms from his father, who 20 years ago raised and bred wild animals at risk of extinction in Libya as a result of overfishing.

From petting antelopes to feeding hyenas, Jihad wakes up each morning with what he calls an "unspeakable" love for his animals.

 

 

A jihad arose around animals that many believe belong to the wild, including deer, ostriches and llamas. After learning the skills of dealing with them from his father, the young farmer and animal breeder became attached to them, and learned the language of each of them.

Jihad Diab told Reuters, "Basically, it was my father's hobby, and I learned a lot about animals. Since I became aware of the world, I found the animals in front of me, the deer, the ostrich, the deer... I deal with them in the right way, and I understand their way of dealing." My relationship with her has now become a love, and I am getting used to it more and more.”

He added, "My love for animals is an indescribable feeling. I call the doctor if I have a sick animal, and at night I stay up with him until the morning. Praise be to God, I am not negligent. I give her her right and more."

Diab explained that some animals are at risk of extinction in Libya. due to overfishing. His father was able to increase the number of some of them, in addition to raising some animals that are native outside Libya as well. But the threat remains.

 

Jihad said, "Like the wadan (Barbary lamb) and the reem gazelle, they are almost threatened with extinction in Libya. The father was able to breed herds of every kind, so that we raised animals from outside Libya such as the island, the Lingai antelope, the Indian antelope and the oryx. We have been breeding these animals for more than 15 years. years, and reproduce naturally.

Jihad Diab owns two farms, one in Tripoli and the other in Misrata. Visitors are welcomed.

"It was a wonderful turnout of people, the majority were amazed. These things were not expected in Libya," he told Reuters TV about the visitors to his farms.
