[Console Games] Sony claims Microsoft won't let them put Call of Duty on PS Plus

Sony continues to present arguments in order to prevent the completion of Microsoft's acquisition of Activision, the latest of which is its claim that it will not let it put the Call of Duty game on the PS Plus service.

 

 

Sony recently expanded its monthly service and offered packages of varying levels and prices, in a move to provide more large titles to these packages, especially the higher ones, including Premium and Extra.

Sony claims in its latest response to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) that Microsoft will not allow it to put Call of Duty or any of Activision's other games such as Spyro and Crash Bandicoot on PS Plus in any way.

 Sony considers the PS Plus monthly subscription service crucial to its ability to compete in the future, while Call of Duty on PS Plus is absolutely essential.

Sony also claims that instead Microsoft will seek to force it to make the Xbox Game Pass service accessible through PlayStation devices, so that users on Sony platforms can access Call of Duty and other Activision games instead of offering them directly on PS Plus.

 

This claim from Sony is the opposite of what Phil Spencer said through his special offer to Sony to make Call of Duty available on PlayStation platforms for 10 years. However, the company referred to Microsoft's acquisition of Zenimax in the past, as it promised at the time to make its games available on several platforms, but after completing the deal, it began converting its new games to be available exclusively on Xbox platforms.

 

Sony concluded that Microsoft's past behavior showed that its public statements should be treated with great suspicion and caution, and not dealt with without guarantees and under close scrutiny.
