It's only a small detail, but it certainly tells players a lot about the strong relationship between Cal and BD-1, showing the little droid's loyalty to the Jedi. Ultimately, it's the little touches that add up and build the overall picture for players.

Other Redditors in the thread took the time to appreciate all the adorable moments that BD-1 brings to the game, with one user claiming that BD in fact stands for Best Droid in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. It certainly faces some stiff competition, with the game bringing back the battle droids from the Prequel era of films. Unfortunately, 2019's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order would never be given a story expansion despite plenty of fan demand.
