As a result, she met a theater producer, who helped her become known outside of Barranquilla. She also met an executive from Sony Colombia, who after an audition decided to promote the singer in his production company. The audition of some tapes did not convince the managers at first, but after hearing her live, Shakira was hired to record three albums.
