NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4070 is reportedly not the success that the company hoped it would be & will be halting further production till June.

Reports Allege NVIDIA Stopping GeForce RTX 4070 Production Due To Poor Market Response
Reports of NVIDIA limiting the production of its GeForce RTX 4070 GPUs started to appear at the end of April. It was stated by various industry sources within the Chinese Board Forums that the company would be limiting the production of the gaming chips till the end of May. However, the whole situation hasn't improved a lot & there are now reports alleging that the production will be further limited by a month and extended till June.

It is mentioned that NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4070 GPU production was mainly halted as a means to stop deals and distributors from lowering the ASP of the graphics card prior to the launch of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is expected to launch at the end of this month and having the RTX 4070 placed right next to it would directly affect the sales of the new cards. Given that the 16 GB variant of the RTX 4060 Ti is expected to cost $499 US, the maximum price drop one can achieve on the RTX 4070 should be around $550 US.
