It was reported yesterday that iOS 17 would ditch support for the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus later this year. However, a credible leaker is now claiming that all iPhone models that supported iOS 16 will be compatible with iOS 17. The earlier rumor also claimed that some iPad models would also ditch support for iPadOS 17.  There are reasons why Apple should ditch support for 2017 iPhones as well as reasons why it should give the devices more time. Latest leak suggests iPhone X and iPhone 8 models will feature support for iOS 17
It was reported earlier by a source on Twitter that Apple's iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus will drop support for iOS 17. Additionally, it was also coined by the leaker that the first-gen iPad Pro models and iPad 5 will drop support for iPadOS 17 as well. Today, a credible leaker claims that the notion is "simply incorrect." The unknown leaker suggested on MacRumors forums that all iPhone and iPad models that supported iOS 16 will be compatible with iOS 17.
